This post will feature pictures taken of people from our media class. We were all asked to obtain different types of shots such as: close ups; wide shots; long shots etc..
The picture above is a close up. Close ups are a shot that is focused closely on one specific location or person which when used on a person can be used to show expression - mainly fear, sadness or happiness.
This picture is a mid shot. These shots are usually taken from the torso upwards. These shots are much more zoomed out compared to close ups and allow for body language to be present within the image taken.
The picture above is a POV (point of view) Shot. POV shots are used to show what the photographer or cameraman is seeing. These shots are commonly used as evidence in films where, for example, a robbery takes place.
This picture features a wide shot where the background of the image is more visible than the person in the image. There is also more overall head space and space on either side of the person(s) in the picture. These shots are affective as they display the environment in which they are taken.
Over the Shoulder Shots are used when talking to someone or when following someone during filming. These shots give a third person esque feeling to them making it feel as though you are following the character around.
